The Butler is playing on Pay per view, is that a martini or a highball movie?
Tough one. I’m going to have to go with Martini because Forest Whitaker always seems to be holding a tray with a martini on it. As though that’s the only thing that presidents ever drank. If you’re not a martini fan, a Mint Julep might be a nice idea too, in keeping with the Butler’s southern roots….
Liz, awesome review! I’m still laughing, thanks.
Last summer I went to the birth home of Escoffier, which is also a museum. They’re lucky to have a complete table setting from Maxim’s…including the pale pink lamp shades.
oh how neat! I really did love the visuals in this one
This is a great blog. Glad I came across it. Any ideas for a cocktail for watching Sixteen Candles or the Breakfast Club?
Hi Kristen, thanks for reading! For ‘The Breakfast Club’ I’d probably have a mimosa in my hand, and with ‘Sixteen Candles’ I’d make a birthday cake martini- equal parts Pinnacle Cake vodka, Godiva white chocolate liqueur, and half-and-half. You’ve given me some great inspiration for future posts! 🙂
My sister and I are catching up on the Bourne trilogy in preparation for this weekend’s new Bourne flick. Any cocktail suggestions?
That’s funny, my husband and I are doing the same thing! I’ll be drinking a Blackbriar Bramble, a re-named version of the Gin Bramble I featured here: https://cinemasips.com/2015/09/07/sense-and-sensibility/ . Great for summer, and uses a delicious French blackberry liqueur.
Hello
I was wondering if any one knows a good drink I could make with The Big Country.
Thank you
I love a good Moonshine cocktail with a western! Big and bold, I’d mix up a “Big Muddy”:
2 oz Moonshine corn whiskey
1 oz sweet vermouth
1/2 oz Cointreau
3-4 dashes orange bitters
Lemon Twist
Serve over ice in a rocks glass.
Thanks for reading Cinema Sips! 🙂
