MILK (2008) hit the blog last week with a Harvey Milk Punch, and I’m just poking my head out of post-vacation catch-up to say Happy Pride!!!, and let’s all take the spirit of Harvey Milk with us to the polls in November. ✊🌊 “We live in a glass house - we’re not throwing any stones.” For this Doris Day fan, dinner at Terry’s Restaurant at the @cypress_inn was absolutely amazing! I knew I wanted to come here for my birthday, but I couldn’t have anticipated the entire patio serenading not me, but an adorable 12-yr old dog who shares my special day. He even brought a birthday cake to share with all the other pooches at nearby tables! (Don’t worry, I had my own human treat 😉). Honestly, it was pretty perfect, and it felt like Doris was smiling down on us all. Cheers to my movie fairy godmother, and a great night in a magical place. “Here I was born, and there I died. It was only a moment for you; you took no notice.“ Bucket list item officially crossed off, thanks to a trip to Trader Vic’s!!! Never thought I’d get the chance to taste the ‘44 Mai Tai at Tiki Mecca, but dreams do come true. Loved every sip. Cheers! Out of Office….. This week, Cary Grant and Tony Curtis pilot a pink submarine through WWII’s Pacific Theater in OPERATION PETTICOAT (1959)! This movie is a great excuse to make a boozy Pink Drink, named the Sea Tiger after their gorgeous vessel. I love any film where people fling ladies undergarments into the sea (it happens more than you’d think in classic cinema!), but add in Blake Edwards and some pink paint, and I’m a goner. Cheers! New this week on Cinema Sips, FURIOSA paired with a Spicy Peach Spritz! 🔥🍑🥂 Peaches is SO EXCITED to have her very own portrait painted by one of my favorite authors, @elissareads !!!! Elissa started this project to benefit Mutual Aid, and if you’re local, you can pick them up in person at @birdhousebooksatx and meet another adorable dog in the process! (I may have also picked up the new Kate Clayborn book ☺️). This is going to look great on our wall, and Peaches is already feeling like a star 🤩. Cheers!
