About the Blog

Hello, and thank you for finding your way to Cinema Sips!  I got the idea for this blog after finding that almost every time I put on a favorite movie, I wanted to mix a cocktail that went along with it. While I continue to work on my writing career, this space is a fun outlet to explore two of my passions, cinema and cocktails.

Here are a few simple guidelines:

-Most of the films I’ll be posting about are ones I personally love. That being said, if you’re really into westerns, action movies, or sci-fi, you may be a little disappointed by my selections. However, I’ll do my best to include at least a few films outside my typical comfort zone. If you find that a genre is being totally underrepresented, let me know and I’ll do my best to fix that.

-If you have a movie you want a cocktail pairing for, post it here, on the Cinema Sips Facebook or Instagram pages, or shoot me an email (cinemasips@gmail.com). I promise to do my best to come up with something quickly.

-If you are mixing these cocktails, I assume you’re legally old enough to imbibe, and smart enough to understand that you should be sitting in front of your TV drinking, not driving somewhere else.

-If you want to rent or purchase any of the films mentioned, I’ve provided links for you to do so. The blog generates income via Amazon affiliate links, so please– click away!

Hopefully, after a few months of reading Cinema Sips, your liquor cabinet will be appropriately stocked for any occasion, and your home media collection will be the envy of all your friends.

Cheers,

Liz

  1. We are about to watch Die Hard and will be making your suggested cocktail to accompany it. However, we will be watching Die Hard 2 later this week and need a cocktail to go with it.

    Any suggestions?

Hope you are enjoying the Christmas season

    • Hi Geoff and Alan! So I’ve actually never seen Die Hard 2, though it was on in the background at my father’s house yesterday. It sounded like it took place in an airport? If that’s the case, I’d drink an Aviation: Crème de violette + Maraschino liqueur + Gin + Lemon juice
      Cheers, and happy New Year!

      • Thanks – will go and buy some Creme de violette tomorrow.

By the way, watch Die Hard 2. It’s great. Alan loves Die Hard, whilst I prefer Die Hard 2.

        Thanks again
